Vion has two anticancer compounds in
human clinical testing.
Products
CloretazineŽ (VNP40101M) is a noval cytotoxic
agent in clinical development for treatment of acute myelogenous
leukemia (AML). In addition, clinical trials of CloretazineŽ (VNP40101M)
are underway in small cell lung cancer, in brain tumors in combination
with temzolomide, and in advanced hematalogic malignancies in
combination with hematopoietic cell transplantation.
TriapineŽ, which is designed
to prevent the replication of tumor cells by blocking DNA, an enzyme
critical to synthesis and repair, is in clinical trials sponsored by the
National Cancer Institute.
